No Water on the Farm.
It is the 3rd day without water since FIBECO changed a transformer in the substation. Then the water pumps don’t run and power is down. They don’t have doubled up transmission lines so that they can easily take out one to fix it, or to switch it on another grid line. Mmmh. Well, well, it will come. But first the Cobra.
Our washing machine also failed, but I think it is only the fuse that burnt since a screw blocked the rotation of the drum. Will fix it tomorrow.

We also had a visitor. Grey back with some yellow on the side. And it spits!

It sways gently, watching your every breath with cold, unblinking eyes. Panic threatens to take over, but your instinct to protect your sanctuary snaps you into survival mode. You know you have to take action, but one wrong move could be catastrophic

Today was a delightful escapade into the world of poultry real estate! Who knew owning a bamboo forest would turn us into the proud landlords of a Pabo mansion? Yes, you heard it right! Our humble abode for feathered friends is shaping up to look less like a chicken coop and more like a luxurious estate. Forget the white picket fence; we’re talking bamboo accents and open-air egg-laying patios! 🐔🏡
The Pabos (that’s fancy chicken for “chickens”) are eagerly eyeing their new digs, clucking with anticipation. “Hurry up, guys!” they seem to say. They’re ready to move in and start laying eggs like they’re auditioning for a reality show called “Keeping Up with the Cluckdashians.”
And why not waste a little bamboo? After all, if you’ve got a bamboo forest, you might as well turn it into a Pabo paradise! Who needs a boring old garden when you can have a sprawling estate for your poultry?

How it begun
It began with a heartfelt vision in January 2024: to transform several hectares of rugged land, once covered in bush and overgrowth, into a thriving agroforestry haven. Guided by deep faith and a commitment to honor God through responsible care of creation, we embraced the land as both gift and responsibility. We set out to plant tall coconut palms intercropped with vibrant fruit trees, creating a two-tier canopy system that would nurture soil, conserve water, reduce erosion, and celebrate biodiversity. Combined with small animals like pabos, goats, and swine.
The Early Days
From the earliest days, the work was hands-on and resilient. Teams cleared challenging terrain, faced heavy rains and landslides, and turned obstacles into opportunities for growth. Mornings broke with promise. Sunlight filtering through emerging fronds, birdsong filling the air, as workers pruned, tended soil, and built infrastructure with perseverance and purpose. Roads and small buildings. Every tree planted carried a prayer for future generations: abundance not just for one family, but for the wider community through jobs, eco-tourism, and shared learning.
